HERMAN REMPEL'S PRONUNCIATION EXERCISE
Project Origens
Based on Kjenn Jie Noch Plautdietsch? Mennonite Low German Dictionary by Herman Rempel, this exercise enables you to hear Mr Rempel pronouncing the Plautdietsch words as you read them in text with their English language definition. You can also read his introduction, which includes his notes on his orthography. His English to Plautdietsch word-list is also available.
To do this pronunciation excercise, choose one of the letters below. When this text file has opened, click on the corresponding audio file, adjust the volume to a comfortable level and scroll down on the text as you listen to Mr. Rempel pronounce each Plautdietsh word beginning with that letter.
